Voice and speech
Solitary pursuit of lightning
Yoshikage kira monologue
Studio
I used these monologues as practice to get used to the studio and by the end of this unit I would like to rerecord these for a better sounding version and with less mumbled speech.

The rerecording's sound a lot better after listening back as my words sounded less mumbled as I spoke slower to get the words out better and there was less of a stutter.
First impressions
This unit is really exciting for me as it is a part of the career I want to pursue in the future which is voice acting for cartoons and video games. I think this unit will help me learn more about the voice over industry and how to prep my voice for different types of voice roles.
Going into the college studio was a fun experience as it let me see how a the studio runs and all the tech where voice directors would be and it allowed me to go over my monologues I prepped for voice over.
Recorded voice work
This scene I performed with two other people. We all did two characters each and did our best to different voice for each character we did and was a challenge to do as we had to make a difference in each characters voice and tone. The characters I played was called Blitzo and Joe. For Joe I gave him a Texan accent as he is a character who works one farm and is really tough so which gives of a Texas kind of character. For Blitzo I gave him a kind of a casual and jokey as he is a character who try's to get along with others but most of the stuff he say's comes off as sexual.
For this recording I practised what laugh I should give this character and how I should deliver it. I chose a quite psychotic laugh as it was a scene of the character damaging something in an enjoyable way. The laugh I chose wasn't to strenuous on my voice and was quite an easy one to do.
This recording has my character change his tone of voice halfway through from a calming one to a outburst of anger.
This really helps with my practice of character tones and sudden changes of them. I gave the character a deep and menacing voice as he is a character who is in control of an organisation and is easily angered.
Audio book
Audio books are different from other recording I've done as it is a narration from a book instead of a character taking. It was fun to do as it was just me speaking in a normal voice instead of doing a voice for a character. Audio books are good for people who can't read and having people read for them really helps.

Parts that help with voice
There are multiple different parts that help with your voice and each help in different ways.

The resonators help produce a person voice. Voice is amplified and modified here as well.

The vibrators change air pressure to sound waves which produce voiced sound and helps with sound pitch.

Articulators modify the voiced sound and helps produce recognisable words.

Workshop
Strengths and weakness
With voice I would say my weakness is my articulation as I normally speak fast when performing which makes words sound jumbled and misheard. I can improve this by going over voiced thing more slower and looking at tongue twisters.
My strength I would say is my character tones as I'm very good with characters emotions and there tone. I'm also strong with select accents as over the years I've mimicked accents over the years I've heard them.

I feel like after the workshop with the group my articulation has gotten better after practicing the tongue twisters as they helped me with the getting words out correctly and making them sound less jumbled. The massaging of the jaw muscles really helped as well as it made speaking a lot more easier,
